Samhain Beyond Consumerism

Something in me resists when traditions become hollow shells — when what was once sacred drowns in the frenzy of consumption. Halloween? For many, it’s an evening of candy, spooky costumes, and late-night parties.
But within me stirs something else: a longing for reflection, for depth, for what was truly honored long before supermarkets filled their aisles with plastic ghosts.

I feel this time as an energetic threshold. Yet I also feel blocked — overwhelmed, even though I don't participate, by a collective current that sweeps everything away: less sleep, unconscious consumption, the relentless cry of “more!” — more sugar, more stimulation, more distraction. Fun at any cost.
And still, my inner voice asks: At what cost?

Celebration at the expense of awareness, health, and reverence for life’s cycles?

REMEMBRANCE VERSUS CONSUMPTION

So I sit down. I breathe. And I search for the spark — the original spark — that once glowed in this season, long before it became a commercial machine. Perhaps this wisdom was even deliberately obscured. Because those who remember their ancestors, who honor silence and feel connected to the greater whole, are not so easily led. They do not consume blindly.

And so I turn to Jeanne Rouland — a woman of profound wisdom who devoted her life to preserving the knowledge of Celtic traditions and weaving it into her books. She left this world far too soon, yet her legacy feels more urgent than ever.

IN HER WORDS — FREELY TRANSLATED FROM FRENCH

According to Rouland, Samhain (pronounced “Sah-win” or “Sow-in” was one of the four great seasonal festivals of the Celts. It marked the transition from the light half to the dark half of the year — the beginning of the Celtic winter on the evening of October 31st. It was not merely a festival, but a sacred threshold, when the veil between worlds grew especially thin: between the living and the ancestors, between the seen and the unseen.

In her words — freely translated from French — she writes:

Samhain was not a time of fear, but of reverence. It was the moment when nature withdrew, the light faded, and the community paused to honor the dead, give thanks for the harvest, and prepare for the stillness of winter. The ancestors returned that night—not as threatening figures, but as wise companions whose presence could bring blessing and protection.

RITUALS OF SPIRITUAL RENEWAL

Fire played a central role—not as decoration, but as a sacred gateway. Community fires were often kindled by friction, the so-called “need-fire.” Each household would extinguish their hearth flame and relight it from this shared sacred fire—an act of purification, a symbol of continuity, a ritual of spiritual renewal.

Even masks held deeper meaning. They were not worn for entertainment, but for protection or ritual communion with the Otherworld. One did not hide out of fear — but to consciously cross the threshold.

Jeanne Rouland emphasized again and again: Samhain was not an “evil” festival. It was a sacred closure, marked by gratitude, respect, and a profound connection to nature, ancestors, and the invisible weaving of life.
Modern commercialization may flood the surface — but the energetic essence of this time remains palpable to all who are still enough to listen.

Below are a few reflections from her writings — freely translated from French, held in the spirit of her teachings:

On the Essence of Samhain

Samhain is not a night of fear, but of holy silence. It is the breath between two worlds—the one of light that is departing, and the one of shadows inviting us inward. That night, the veil does not open to frighten, but to remind: we are never alone as long as we honor our ancestors.

On the Return of the Ancestors

The Celts did not fear the dead—they welcomed them. On the eve of Samhain, a place was left by the hearth, bread and milk set on the table. Not out of superstition, but out of love. For those who honor their ancestors preserve the roots of their being.

On Fire as a Symbol of Renewal

The Samhain fire was not a bonfire of merriment, but a sacred gate. It purified what needed to be released and kindled within the heart of the community a spark for the coming darkness. Each person carried its ashes home—not as a memory of endings, but as a seed for new beginnings.

On a Spiritual Approach to Halloween Today

When we wear masks on October 31st today, we might ask ourselves: Are we hiding from the world—or from ourselves? The ancient Celts wore masks to cross the threshold, not to deny it. Samhain calls us to see the invisible—especially within ourselves.

IN THE SPIRIT OF UNIVERSAL ANCESTRAL CONNECTION

While the Celts lit fires on the evening of October 31st to welcome the ancestors, in Mexico countless candles are lit at the same time — and luminous orange Cempaxochitl (Tagetes) flowers are scattered from the cemetery all the way to the doorstep. This sacred marigold, known as "Flor de Muerto", is far more than decoration: its potent fragrance is said to guide the souls home, through the night, straight to the altar of love.
Where the Celts used fire to pierce the veil, in Mexico, flower petals open a fragrant passage.

Though these traditions may seem worlds apart, they share the same deep truth: Death does not separate us — as long as we remember.

And perhaps, especially in times when consumption drowns out silence, it is more healing than ever to ask:
**What traces am I leaving — for the souls who come, and for those who remain? **

Maybe we don’t need to celebrate less today — but more consciously. In stillness. In the heart. In connection.

WHEN THE WORLD GROWS LOUD AND THE SOUL SEEKS STILLNESS

On such nights, when the world grows loud and the soul longs for quiet, even a small gesture can hold great power: an herbal eye mask made of organic cotton, filled with organic millet husks and a custom herbal blend attuned to your intention — perhaps lavender for peace, mugwort for protection, or sage for cleansing.
It offers darkness, so your inner light may shine.
And space, to return home to yourself.

Responding Consciously Instead of Reacting

##
When the Ground Beneath Your Feet Begins to Shake

Life often places before us things we feel unprepared for:
a message that changes everything,
a stranger yelling at you in the supermarket,
an accident, a layoff, a rejection, a mishap—
or something that cuts even deeper: the loss of a loved one, a diagnosis, a betrayal.

Sometimes it truly feels as if the ground is ripped out from under your feet.
And in those moments, it’s not what happens that defines you—
but how you respond to it.
Not with impulsive reaction, but with conscious response.
Because between stimulus and reaction lies a space—
and in that space, freedom can be born.
A freedom we must nurture daily, so it’s available to us precisely when life becomes unpredictable.

Nourishment for Body, Mind, and Soul

To act from that space—with clarity and centeredness—requires daily care on all levels.

On the Physical Level

This means nourishing yourself each day with food that is as fresh, pure, and alive as possible — and moving your body so it stays flexible, well-circulated, and strong.
A tired, acidic, or undernourished body tends to react from survival mode — not from wisdom.

How we care for our physical body directly shapes our gut-brain coherence, which plays a crucial role in how we navigate life.
Most decisions are first made in the gut — not the head.
When your gut is in balance—when your microbiome, digestion, and nervous system are in harmony — it sends clear signals: from calm, not from crisis.
A healthy gut is more than just a digestive organ — it’s the seat of your deep inner knowing and primal trust.

On the Emotional and Spiritual Level

Here, it’s about asking yourself:
Do I let old wounds, fears, and habitual patterns dictate my actions?
Or can I remain in the eye of the hurricane — calm, clear, connected to myself?

This is where heart-brain coherence comes in.
When breath, heartbeat, and thoughts align, an inner space opens — a space where you can act not from fear, but from your center: grounded, thoughtful, and trusting.

This space doesn’t appear on its own.
We must consciously create and tend to it — through breath, through pausing, through grounding, through reflection, and through the daily choice to honor ourselves.

Trusting — Despite Everything, or Perhaps Because of It?

I’ve experienced things that nearly shattered my trust in humanity.
Almost five years ago, essential documents belonging to my husband and me were forged—and through this fraud, a piece of land that was meant to secure our family’s future was stolen from us.

Since then, we’ve lived in uncertainty.
No institution, no legal system has truly supported us as victims of this crime. On the contrary — lawyers have profited from our suffering, despite clear evidence. It’s a deeply corrupt system.

The weight is heavy. And it has left deep marks — on our psyche, our daily life, our sense of safety, future and trust.

And yet—my nature leans toward trust.
So I keep asking myself:
Is this naivety, despite all I’ve been through?
Or is it a gentle guidance — perhaps my guardian angel, or a wise part of my soul—reminding me: Stay open. Don’t give up on trust?

Sometimes the answer isn’t clear.
But one thing I know for certain:
My gut feeling is my truest compass —
but only when I am centered.

And I find that center in my breath.
In conscious movement.
In nourishing, light-filled food.
In intentional pauses.
In letting go.

In the quiet space where heart and brain, gut and mind, begin to speak with one another again —
where body, mind, and soul remember:
You are whole. You are here. You are connected.

This keeps me sane.
It keeps me in love.
It keeps me in trust.
It keeps me in the present moment.

And You?

Is there a situation in your life that weighs on you daily?
That seems to offer no way out?
That forced you to abandon your plans — and begin again?

Sometimes, all it takes is one conscious breath to remember:
I am connected. I am here. I am allowed to let go. I am in trust.

A Gentle Companion for Turbulent Times

Perhaps you’re looking for a way to consciously create that space of stillness—
not just mentally, but physically, too.

That’s why I create hand-sewn herbal eye masks: as a soft invitation to return to your center.

Each one is made with care — filled with organic millet hulls and a personalized blend of organic healing herbs, intuitively selected, based on what you need right now: calm, clarity, protection, comfort, strength, or healing.

The herbal aroma soothes your nervous system.
The gentle darkness gives your eyes true rest.
The light pressure calms your mind and helps regulate blood pressure.
And as you breathe, a space opens—where heart, brain, and gut can once again communicate in coherence.

These are more than eye masks.
They are small rituals of self-care— a way to say to yourself:
I am taking some me-time. I am coming home to my center.

If you feel called, I’d be honored to create a herbal eye mask that resonates with your current journey.
Because sometimes, in the middle of the storm, all you need is one quiet moment —
dark, fragrant, still —
to find your way back to yourself.

I always welcome your reflections, thoughts, feedback and sats 😉⚡️

A gentle invitation to return to yourself

When the noise grows louder than the silence

In a world that constantly reaches for us — through messages, notifications, and expectations — we sometimes forget the simplest thing: to breathe. Not just mechanically, but consciously. Deeply. With intention.

Your breath is your life’s quiet music.

Soft, steady, always present — yet so often unheard. It connects your mind and heart, creating that precious state of heart-brain coherence that allows you to think and feel with greater calm and clarity. From this balance, you make choices that truly align with who you are.

But what if your eyes have taken in too much? If your mind feels overstimulated and your soul longs for stillness and clarity? Then it’s time to pause. To consciously create a space — for silence, for darkness, for nothingness, for you.

The gentle embrace of the plant world

In these moments, nature can accompany you in the most beautiful way. Aromatherapy is more than just scent — it’s a gentle bridge to your inner world. When you inhale the fragrance of healing herbs, you’re not only receiving their soothing aromatic compounds — you’re also welcoming the essence, the soul of the plants themselves: their calm, their clarity, their quiet strength.

Each of my hand-sewn herbal eye masks is a small ritual of care. Filled with organic millet hulls and a lovingly blended mix of certified organic healing herbs, its true effect unfolds in stillness. The gentle weight, the subtle aroma, the soft darkness — all invite you to feel tenderly held, both from the outside and deep within.

Time for you

You may know this feeling: despite countless digital and physical connections, we sometimes feel deeply alone. Because true connection begins within — and it begins with the breath.

When you take conscious moments to breathe, you open not only your lungs but also your energy centers.
Your breath cleanses. It carries oxygen — and with it, vital life force — to every organ, every cell. It brings you back to the here and now, to the place where your soul feels at home.

And almost effortlessly — yet profoundly — it helps you release what no longer serves you: stagnant energy, metabolic waste, acidity, tension. Whatever has been held inside can now flow out with your exhale, like a soft wind lifting fallen leaves from the ground.

In this way, your cells are given space to regenerate, renew, and restore.

This is how the breath returns you to the present

In the gentle interplay of conscious breathing, soothing darkness, and the wisdom of plants, a sacred space opens — a space where you can truly recharge. Where you feel held, clarified, calmed, and loved — not from the outside, but from within.

A small step — profound impact

You don’t need hours of meditation or perfect relaxation. Sometimes, just five conscious breaths beneath a herbal eye maks are enough to come back to yourself — to hear your own voice again, beneath all the noise.

My herbal eye masks are made with deep care, using only organic materials, out of respect for the healing power of plants and the human longing for true rest and renewal. They are not just a product — they are an invitation:

Breathe. Pause. Be.

Each hand-sewn herbal eye mask is a small ritual of care — crafted for you, or as a tender gift for someone you love.

Mantra

I breathe in — I am here.
I breathe out — I allow mysel to let go.

I always welcome your reflections, thoughts, or feedback.

If this resonates with you, I’d be honored, if you'd like to order one of my herbal eye masks.

WHY DOES OUR BODY REACT TO SEEMINGLY HARMLESS THINGS LIKE POLLEN, NUTS, DAIRY, OR WHEAT?

Allergies and intolerances have become a common condition in modern society. More and more people struggle with symptoms triggered by things the human body should be able to process without trouble.

BUT WHY IS THAT?

A personal note before we dive in:
Many people dream of one day “going back” – after a period of avoidance and perhaps even after rebuilding their system – to old habits, old eating patterns, to what was easier, more convenient, and less socially "awkward".
I understand this longing – truly. And yet, I find it hard to just watch it happen. Because true healing is not about returning to the old. It’s about consciously creating a new direction.

In this article, I’ll share my thoughts and practical experiences on the matter.
It may trigger you. It may inspire you.
Above all, I hope it makes you pause and reflect.

THE ROOT GOES DEEPER

The real cause of these overreactions is rarely “the pollen” or “the nut”.
It lies in our inner core, which has fallen out of balance:

The gut is overloaded, clogged, its lining full of microscopic holes – particles slip into the bloodstream where they don’t belong. The immune system sounds the alarm.

The gut microbiome is imbalanced; good bacteria are outnumbered – one of our most important defense systems collapses.

Chronic stress keeps insulin, cortisol & co. running on overdrive. The liver? Overloaded. The adrenals? Exhausted.

We’re exposed to environmental toxins – from pesticides to heavy metals to microplastics – while consuming industrially processed “food” that hardly deserves the name. This burdens the gut, liver, kidneys, lungs, skin, hormones, and lymph. Our systems are overly acidic.

We eat products our bodies were never designed for – highly processed ingredients, often produced under extreme stress and human and animal suffering. We take in that energy too.

We don’t sleep enough. Nighttime is our prime detox and repair window – when it’s cut short, the system stays in alarm mode.

Medications, vaccines, and more can add stress especially when the body is no longer allowed or able to self-regulate.

Our soils are depleted. Monoculture produces yield, but little nutrition.

And: we’ve forgotten to take responsibility. We’ve lost touch with ourselves, allowing advertising, headlines, trends, and fear-mongering to dictate our choices.

WHAT (NOT) TO DO

**Say stop!!

Not to everything at once, but somewhere. Begin.

Stop unhealthy autopilot behavior.

Stop letting manipulative advertising and social pressure steer you.

Stop what stresses, pushes, and manipulates you.

Stop toxic relationships, harmful patterns, and habits that make you sick.

Stop believing that “more performance” will move you forward – financially perhaps, but at what cost to your health?

Instead: return to self-responsibility and the ability to feel yourself again.

Your body doesn’t need a “free-from” industrial yogurt. It needs you!

The solution is not endless new “free-from” products that slip through the stomach without symptoms but leave the root cause untouched.
The solution is to reset and rebuild your system – and cultivate new life and eating habits aligned with what you were naturally designed for.
In other words: reorient yourself – physically, mentally, emotionally.

That means:
→ Strengthening your gut and getting your lymph flowing
→ Eating in a truly natural way
→ Steering your thoughts – not letting them steer you. You are the driver, not the passenger!
→ Getting your sleep back in balance
→ Calming your nervous system
→ Trusting your body to know what’s good for you

ALLERGIES ARE NOT THE ENEMY – THEY’RE A CALL FOR HELP

Your body isn’t fighting pollen. It’s fighting because it no longer has a filter.
**Give it the chance to filter again.
**Give it the space to heal again.
And start listening – not to labels and ads from the same industry that made you sick, but to yourself.

REPAIR, DON’T REPLACE

We’ve forgotten how to repair.
We live in a world where everything is replaced the moment it stops “working.”
We treat our bodies the same way – symptoms must vanish quickly instead of addressing the root cause.
We’ve been raised into a throwaway culture.

**But your body is not disposable.
**It was designed to regenerate – if you give it the chance.

Let’s relearn the art of repairing what’s broken – holistically: within ourselves and in the world around us.

Raw-Vegan Chocolate made by Rohyal

DARK RAW CHOCOLATE

So far the mainstream narrative...
...But before we all start burying our dark chocolate – or worse, switching to milk chocolate – let’s pause and use our brains for a moment!

DARK CHOCOLATE: CONCENTRATION, NOT A CHEMICAL COCKTAIL

Yes, dark chocolate contains more of everything...
Because it’s more concentrated. More cocoa automatically means: more bitterness, more antioxidants, more magnesium, more tryptophan – and with that, more of those feel-good natural chemicals... and yes, potentially more heavy metals from the soil.
But now this natural, minimally processed food is being vilified – while few are asking what’s really inside all those shiny industrial products packed with flavors, emulsifiers, fillers, cheap sugar, and milk powder.
Sure – less cadmium! But in exchange, plenty of other stuff no one’s talking about. Probably because it doesn’t grab headlines as well...!

ORGANIC IS NOT THE PROBLEM

The new criticism of organic chocolate is especially absurd. Because it’s often grown more traditionally and comes from certain regions, it can contain more cadmium – that’s true.
But if you were to run studies on pesticide residues, glyphosate, and other chemical loads in conventional products, cadmium and lead would probably fall off the worry list real quick.

CACAO REMAINS THE QUEEN

So, dear readers: don’t lose your minds – and use your common sense.
Yes, milk chocolate contains less cadmium – but only because it contains much less cocoa. Instead, it offers more sugar, more fat, often lower-quality ingredients, and sometimes barely anything that could still be called cocoa.
If you think you're choosing the “healthier” option just because there’s less cadmium and lead in it, maybe take a moment to reconsider what “healthier” really means.
Dark chocolate – or better yet: raw cacao beans, cacao nibs, or high-quality raw chocolate – remains one of the most natural and nutrient-rich foods nature has to offer.

NATURALLY SACRED

> Even the Mayans revered cacao as a sacred plant – a gift from the gods: food, medicine, and spiritual tool all in one.

Fresh cacao fruit - picture taken in Bali in 2014 by the author.

And that’s exactly what chocolate still is today – if we choose to honor it in its natural form.
As is often the case in this crazy world: what was once divine is now demonized – simply because its natural form carries more real substance than industrial sugar paste flavored with "cocoa."

Those who choose real chocolate are embracing a raw resource that has been valued for centuries as both food and medicine.

Stay awake, stay curious – and enjoy consciously. Dark, pure, and with intention.

32°C – and Not Thirsty?

WHY YOUR BODY MIGHT BE RIGHT

It’s summer. The sun is blazing, the thermometer reads over 90°F (32°C) – and yet, you're not thirsty? Strange, right? We all know how important it is to stay hydrated. And still, sometimes we simply don’t feel like drinking. Maybe that’s not negligence at all – but rather a smart signal from your body.

Because: Not all water is living water.

The water that comes out of our taps is often filled with residues: chemical particles from agriculture and industry, micro- and nanoplastics, medications, hormones from livestock – even traces from human pharmaceuticals.
Tap water – and most bottled water – is essentially “dead.” And our bodies, so sensitive and wise, can sense that. No wonder they don’t crave this kind of water.
No Thirst?

Hot Days and Still No Urge to Drink?

What if there were a natural alternative – a way to hydrate that our bodies actually love?

FRUITS AND VEGETABLES: HYDRATION IN ITS MOST LIVING FORM

Fruits are far more than just sweet snacks. They are complex masterpieces of nature – packed with vitamins, minerals, fiber, phytonutrients, and most importantly: structured cellular water. This type of water is alive, harmoniously embedded in a matrix of nutrients, energy – and perhaps even information we don't yet have words for.
Fruits don’t just give us water – they give us life.
Unlike artificially enriched supplements, fruits deliver a holistic package that our bodies easily recognize, absorb, and utilize.
Yes, fruits contain sugar –
but not the isolated, refined kind. Their natural sugar is balanced by fiber and nutrients that support, rather than stress, your metabolism.

NOT CRAVING WATER? MAYBE YOU NEED FRUIT.

If you feel like you should be drinking water but just aren’t thirsty – reach for a juicy melon, a handful of berries, or a perfectly ripe peach. Your body knows what it needs. And sometimes, it’s not just H₂O – it’s the whole spectrum of nature.
Of course, this doesn’t mean you should stop drinking water. On the contrary – water is essential. But when you do drink it, pay attention to its quality. Soft, purified, and ideally revitalized water is perceived very differently by the body – it often starts craving it.

BUT WHAT IF YOU STILL DON’T FEEL THIRSTY – EVEN WITH GOOD WATER?

Even if your water is clean, filtered, and perhaps even energized, you still might not feel thirsty. In that case, try giving your body a gentle nudge:

Add a splash of fresh lemon – it’s refreshing, rich in vitamins, and stimulates digestion.

A tiny pinch of natural salt (like crystal or rock salt) adds minerals and structure, improving cellular absorption.

Fresh herbs like mint, basil, or lemon balm can energize and enliven the water.

This way, your water gains “character” again – and your body receives just the right impulses to gently remind it of the importance of hydration.

Trust your body. Trust nature. And don’t fear fruit – it’s not your enemy, but a gift.

Let this summer be not just hot, but alive – with living water, vibrant food, and a new awareness of what your body is really trying to tell you.

Let me know how you personally relate to thirst and hydration – I’d love to hear from you!

Time Change: A Mini Jet Lag

The time change is more than just setting the clock forward or backward — it can disrupt our internal balance and lead to a range of health issues. Find out why the time change causes a mini jet lag and how you can deal with it.

Why the Time Change Throws Us Off Balance

The expected energy savings due to reduced artificial lighting demand have not been confirmed. Worse yet, the time change leads to an increase in workplace and traffic accidents, a higher risk of heart attacks, and even an increase in suicide rates. Many people struggle with the one-hour shift that happens twice a year. There is constant debate about whether to abolish it and which time should remain permanent...

Permanent Summer Time or Permanent Winter Time?

The time change triggers a mini jet lag that can last from a single day up to three weeks as the body adjusts its internal clock to the new rhythm.

Winter Time Aligns Best with Our Internal Clock

Our bodies follow the circadian rhythm, an internal clock designed for activity during daylight and rest when the sun sets.
Permanent summer time would mean longer darkness in the morning and extended daylight in the evening—this unnatural shift would completely disrupt our biological processes.

The Impact of Time Change on Our Health

Our internal clock regulates essential functions such as body temperature, hormone production, the cardiovascular system, and the sleep-wake cycle. This is why the time change often leads to headaches, fatigue, drowsiness, metabolic disorders, and even severe heart rhythm disturbances. Studies show that these disruptions can increase susceptibility to illnesses and psychological disorders.

Since the light-dark cycle dictates this internal clock, prolonged exposure to artificial light after sunset can shift it. When the time suddenly changes, it causes a disruption, throwing off our natural sleep rhythm.

Sleep Resets the Body!

During the night, the body regenerates:

The brain is flushed with cerebrospinal fluid to clear out toxins.

The body undergoes repair, detoxification, and waste removal.

If the alarm clock rings an hour earlier, the body is still in "night mode" and unable to complete its recovery processes!

Most people already suffer from sleep disorders, whether trouble falling asleep or staying asleep. Added to this is the stress of daily life, which often depletes serotonin levels, reducing the body’s ability to produce melatonin —the sleep hormone. Blue light depletes magnesium in our body, disrupts the circadian rhythm, and interferes with melatonin production! We also know that the pineal gland’s melatonin production is impaired by fluoride found in toothpaste, water, and food!

What Can You Do About Sleep Disorders?

To regulate your sleep rhythm, you need healthy sleep hygiene:

Minimize activity before bedtime.

Avoid artificial light from TVs, smartphones, and e-readers.

Ensure fresh air and a cool bedroom (around 18°C/64°F).

Stick to consistent sleep and wake times — even on weekends!

Reserve the bed and bedroom for sleep only — no heated discussions.

No heavy meals before bed.

Use blue light or orange filter glasses to reduce artificial light exposure.

Air out the bedroom for 20 minutes before going to bed.

Use candlelight in the bathroom while brushing your teeth instead of turning on the harsh neon light.

If these adjustments don’t help, natural remedies, supplements, and herbal teas can provide support.

Natural Sleep Aids

Some well-known natural remedies include:

Melatonin, Tryptophan, GABA, Magnesium

Herbs such as Hops, Lavender, Chamomile, Passionflower, Valerian and organge peal and flower.

By aligning with nature’s rhythm and optimizing sleep habits, we can counteract the negative effects of the time change and restore balance to our bodies and minds.

      <itunes:summary>

…but what does humanity do?

Let’s take a look at winter:

Trees shed their leaves. The plant’s energy withdraws so it can conserve strength and survive the cold season.

Wild animals follow the same pattern: In autumn, they build up reserves, grow thick fur, and retreat into their caves and thickets. Little movement, lots of sleep – a natural strategy for preserving energy. Animals that wouldn’t survive the cold migrate to warmer places to spend the winter.

#### And what does humanity do?
We eat just as much, move just as much (or little), sleep too little – just as we do all year round. Why? Because we can. Because our lives are no longer governed by the seasons. Refrigerators are full, supermarkets are always open, work calls, and daily routines remain unchanged. But this does not come without consequences.

During winter, we don’t allow ourselves to rest or retreat. We ignore our natural needs, overexerting ourselves physically, mentally, and emotionally. The result? An exhausted body and mind, discontent. The lymphatic system gets clogged, the body becomes overly acidic. Spring fatigue, low energy, depression, inflammation, and other ailments follow.

### And then comes spring…
Nature awakens. Life begins anew everywhere. Buds sprout, blossoms unfold – pure energy in its most vibrant form! Everything that grows now serves cleansing and detoxification: wild herbs, fresh shoots, and buds – nature’s medicine for body and mind.

Wild animals follow this rhythm. They shed their winter coats, become more active, consume this natural medicine, mate, or give birth.

#### And what does humanity do?
We keep eating the same, sleeping too little, rushing through our daily routines. And then we wonder why we feel tired, sluggish, and drained. Why our thoughts feel heavy and our bodies weak. Why depression creeps up on us at this very moment. Did you know that the highest suicide rate is in spring?

### Summer – the time of abundance
Nature gifts us with light, warmth, ripe fruits, berries, and fresh vegetables.

Animals spend most of their time outdoors, eating what nature provides and recharging their energy into every cell of their being.

#### And what does humanity do?
We keep working as always, consuming industrially processed foods, barely spending time outside. Too much artificial light, too little sleep. No wonder so many feel exhausted even in summer, drained, struggling with digestion and metabolism.

### Autumn – preparing for retreat
Now is the time for harvest. Nuts, mushrooms, apples, pears, root vegetables, pumpkins, cabbage – all available to build up reserves.

Animals follow nature’s call, gathering, storing energy, preparing for the coming months. Chlorophyll in leaves breaks down, green turns to vibrant autumn colours.

#### And what does humanity do?
We ignore these signals. We stay trapped in the hamster wheel. We enter winter unprepared, weakened, prone to infections, drained by a lack of sunlight and an overly acidic system.

### A cycle of exhaustion
And so the wheel keeps turning. Because we ignore nature. Because we no longer listen to our bodies. Because we have lost touch with our intuition. Because we have enslaved ourselves.

#### What can you do?
Not everyone is ready to leave their daily life behind, move to a warm country, and become self-sufficient. Many want to maintain their current lifestyle.

#### So how can we break the cycle?
Turn inward. Take time each day to listen to yourself. To truly feel what you need. To give space to your needs. Sense what drains you, what makes you sluggish. What brings you joy. Cleanse yourself – physically, mentally, emotionally!

Do more of what you miss, of what makes you happy and fulfilled. Remember: You too are nature.

If all this sounds like a lot of inner work, I invite you to take first steps.

Ask yourself:

Does your body need detoxification?

Cleansing?

More movement?

Or is it time for emotional release?

Christ Consciousness

This text invites you to explore the deeper meaning of the winter season and the birth of Christ Consciousness—beyond religion and dogma. It is about inner reflection, spiritual insight, and the connection of body, mind, and soul, inspired by the ancient symbols of light, energy, and consciousness. Here, I highlight how the symbolism that religions and biblical texts often convey in a material sense actually holds a much deeper meaning—one that can help us awaken our life energy and unlock our full potential. Christmas is far more significant than gifts, family, food, and Christmas trees.

Winter Solstice

The winter solstice marks a turning point in the annual cycle. On December 21st, the sun reaches its southernmost point, and we experience the longest night of the year. While our physical body feels the need to rest and turn inward, our psychic and astral energies unfold. Especially between December 21st and 25th, everything seems to enter a standby mode, creating space for profound reflection and spiritual renewal.
During this darkest time of the year, a kind of inner birth occurs—a birth of the spirit, conceived in the deep silence of the night. It is a moment of introspection, contemplation, and realignment.

The Twelve Holy Nights: A Time for Retreat and Reflection

With the winter solstice, the Twelve Holy Nights (Rauhnächte) begin—a mystical time between the years. These days invite us to turn inward, rest, and connect with our soul. It is a time when physical relaxation and spiritual growth go hand in hand. Advent sets the stage for this phase—each lit candle symbolically represents a chakra, starting with the lower energy centers. By the fourth Advent, the light reaches our heart chakra, a place of love, peace, and connection.

Symbolism Across Different Traditions

This energy is also reflected in Judaism: the festival of Hanukkah lasts for eight days, during which a new candle is lit each day. This practice can be seen as a symbolic journey through the chakras, gradually activating and harmonizing them. Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, stands for the liberation from material and spiritual blockages, the strengthening and activation of energy centers, and the connection to the divine. We learn that there are no separations because we are the divine.

The Sacred Flow of Life: The Claustrum and Inner Alchemy

The term "Claustrum," referring to an occult area in the brain, holds deep symbolic and physical significance. The Claustrum is located between the pineal gland and the pituitary gland and secretes a special fluid known as "Christos." This fluid flows through the spinal cord down to the sacrum.
The sacrum, derived from the Latin word "sacrum," meaning "sacred," represents this "sacred oil" flow. It symbolizes an inner alchemical process: nourishing the body and soul, enhancing consciousness, and bridging the physical and spiritual realms.

Interestingly, this process is depicted in ancient myths: Santa Claus, or Saint Nicholas, descending the chimney to deliver gifts, can be interpreted as a metaphor for the Claustrum and the flow of sacred essence. The gifts represent the awakened consciousness born from this process.

The Journey of Christ Consciousness

Christ Consciousness, often symbolized by the birth of Jesus, is understood in spiritual teachings as an internal process. The fluid from the Claustrum reaches the sacrum and then ascends to activate the pineal and pituitary glands, spreading out from there. During this process, it passes through the 33 vertebrae of the spine—a reference to the age of 33 when Jesus was crucified.
During the "crucifixion" of this sacred oil, it becomes "suspended" in the region of the thalamus for two to three days before illuminating the pineal and pituitary glands. This process leads to profound spiritual renewal and heightened consciousness, often referred to as the awakening of Kundalini energy.

Nutrition and Spirituality

Our diet has a direct influence on this process. Heavy, fatty, or animal-based foods can energetically dull us and block the flow of the "sacred essence." A light, plant-based diet rich in fresh juices, sprouts, and raw foods supports energy flow and spiritual growth. Animal products, drugs, and excessive fats disrupt the process. Similarly, sexual activity with orgasm during the ascent of the sacred oil interrupts the cycle, causing the sacred energy to be lost.
The pineal and pituitary glands, often referred to as the seat of the soul, are associated with the production of "manna" in spiritual traditions—a substance symbolizing milk and honey. This is also linked to Joseph and Mary or the masculine and feminine. The pineal gland secretes a honey-like substance, while the pituitary gland secretes a milk-like substance. The "land flowing with milk and honey" lies within us. We are that land. The process happens within us; there is nothing to seek outside.

The Birth of Light Within Us

In the deepest darkness lies the greatest potential for new life. Through conscious reflection, mindful nutrition, and connection with our body and mind, we can celebrate the birth of light within ourselves—a gift that helps us recognize and live our true potential.

Final Thought

I thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking the time to read this piece. My wish is to inspire and encourage you—even amidst the calls of tradition—to carve out time to look inward, just as the natural cycle of life teaches us. It is an invitation to embark on the path of self-discovery, to grow, awaken, and let our inner light shine, ultimately leading to enlightenment. Step by step, day by day, month by month, and year by year, we allow ourselves to be guided by the wisdom of the cycle, unfolding in wondrous ways.
I always welcome your feedback, thoughts, and reflections on this topic. Your input is invaluable to me and enriches the process of shared growth.

May your cycle be illuminated and filled with love 💛

      <itunes:summary>

Risks and Regulations

Food contact materials (FCMs)

Materials that come into contact with food during processing, packaging, or transport – play a critical role in food safety. However, chemicals can migrate from these materials into food, introducing potential health risks.
For instance, chemicals can leach into food from packaging materials, especially during microwaving, pasteurization, or other high-temperature exposures. Even printing inks on the outer packaging, if not well-contained, can migrate into the food or drink. Factors like high temperatures, small package-to-food ratios, fatty foods, and long storage times all increase this risk.

More than 12,200 chemicals have been identified in FCMs, but only about 100 substances are regulated by the European Union, focusing mainly on plastics. The actual composition of many materials is often undisclosed due to proprietary protection, making it challenging to assess risks fully. Even less is known about secondary substances, which may arise from additives breaking down during manufacturing.

In 2016, EU regulation defined publicly that current regulations do not sufficiently protect public health from the harmful impacts of chemicals migrating from food packaging. The current paradigm for evaluating the safety of FCMs is insufficient, as there is a general underestimation of the role of FCMs in food contamination and a lack of information on human exposure. FCMs are a significant source of human exposure to chemicals of concern, including perfluorinated compounds (PFCs) and endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs), as well as those linked to neurodevelopmental issues.

Moreover, the legal framework doesn’t account for the cumulative "cocktail effect" of multiple low-level chemical exposures, which can collectively exceed safe limits. Research shows that FCMs can contribute to serious health issues like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, neurological disorders, and cancer.
Although packaging is designed to preserve food, maintain quality, and extend shelf life, its chemical impacts remain insufficiently regulated, posing risks that demand greater transparency and robust oversight.

So what can we do?

Be mindful and use less packaged food. Plastic is sometimes even less harmful than paper, as many chemicals and synthetic materials are used in paper production to improve texture and prevent humidity from transferring through the paper packaging. Additionally, the barrier between ink and food in paper packaging is often not very effective.
Chemicals are mostly invisible...!

Easter is just around the corner...

...and as we prepare for it, the true meaning often gets lost amid eggs and chocolate bunnies. 🐣

So, let's focus on food and animals!

Because where there's celebration, there's also feasting! Families and friends gather for Easter brunch, where the traditional Easter egg symbolizes not only fertility but also the cycle of life and rebirth.

**Eating eggs contributes to animal suffering. **
Unfortunately, modern egg production is often associated with animal cruelty.
Laying hens have been bred to lay up to 300 eggs per year, far exceeding their natural capacity of 12-30 eggs. They endure conditions far from their natural habitat, suffering from broken bones, feather loss, and immense stress. In cage, floor, and free-range systems, 9-18 chickens are crammed into one square meter. In organic farming, there are 6 chickens per square meter, and in outdoor runs, 4m².
Chickens love to bathe, a behavior denied to them in the egg industry.
A free-range chicken could live up to 8 years, while most laying hens are slaughtered after just 18 months.

All male chicks are sorted and either shredded or gassed alive! This is simply terrible.

Chickens are intelligent, sensitive, and emotional beings,
just like dogs and cats. They enjoy being petted, recognize their human
family, and even respond to their names when given.

Egg substitutes:

Fortunately, there are numerous ways to celebrate Easter without eggs, without sacrificing taste.

Eggs can easily be replaced with various alternatives.

binding and moisture in baked goods:

Soak 20g of ground flaxseeds or chia seeds in 50ml of water.

Use 60g of applesauce.

Mix 1-2 tablespoons of chickpea or soy flour with 2 tablespoons of water.

Crush 1 ripe banana.

Use silken tofu or cashew butter.

Add soy or coconut yogurt.

Use cornstarch as an alternative.

Baking soda for lightness in pancakes, muffins, cakes, etc.

There are also egg replacement mixes available in stores. Often, the egg can simply be omitted from the recipe.

Another tip: To mimic the taste of eggs, season savory dishes with black salt, also known as Kala Namak.

I'll share delicious recipes with you below! This way, you can enjoy a delicious vegan Easter brunch without compromise.
By reflecting on the original symbolism of the Easter festival and making conscious choices, we can not only reduce animal suffering but also rediscover the true meaning of easter: the pursuit of personal growth, inner renewal, and rebirth (See my other article part 1: https://w3.do/8h2dsiqd)

Thank you for allowing me to inspire you! I look forward to working together to make the world a more peaceful place. 🙏🏽
Happy Easter!

Recipe 1 Chia Pudding with Topping

Mash bananas and mix with oat milk and chia seeds. Let it sit for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it reaches a pudding-like consistency. Fill into bowls and top/decorate with fruits, nuts, seeds, cocoa nibs, coconut flakes, etc. as desired. To give the chia pudding a nice color, I mixed in blueberry powder.

Recipe 2 Vegan-Glutenfree-Oat-Bread

Mix 250g oat flour, 150g brown rice flour, 100g buckwheat flour, yeast (dry or fresh), 1-2 teaspoons of sea salt, and 2 teaspoons of guar gum. Combine everything with 500ml of water and let it rise in a greased baking pan (e.g., 25x10cm) for 20 minutes. Smooth the top with water and then with a little oil. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C for approximately 60 minutes. Remove from the pan and let it cool on a rack.

Recipe 3 Vegan Egg Salad

Mix 3 tablespoons of almond butter, juice of 1/2 lemon, vinegar, mustard, salt, a pinch of turmeric powder, a little oat milk, garlic powder, and Kala Namak for an eggy flavor. Stir everything well. Be careful not to oversalt, as the capers are salty. Add diced pickles and capers. Incorporate onion sprouts or chives. Drain 300g of tofu well and cut into small cubes. Add the tofu to the dressing, rubbing some tofu pieces with your fingers. It's best to cover and let it marinate in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight.

Easter - A Journey to the Origins

In our modern society, Easter seems to be inseparably linked to the consumption of eggs and lambs.
But upon closer examination, the question arises:

Has it always been this way?

Indeed, Easter was originally a celebration of inner growth and fertility, long before the Christian era.

Today, I share with you a condensed excerpt of the story of "Inanna's Descent to the Underworld".

(There are numerous textual representations from different epochs, including the title "Descent to the Underworld.)

Inanna's Descent to the Underworld

The goddess of heaven and earth (also the goddess of fertility), Inanna embarks on a journey into the underworld to conquer it. Along the way, she must overcome 7 walls (or 7 gates) and gradually relinquish seven things she holds dear during her descent: her clothes, her jewelry, her hair, her pride, her desires, her crown, and her power.
Until she stands naked and powerless at the throne of the underworld before her twin sister Ereshkigal. However, Inanna knew no humility and attempted to overthrow Ereshkigal from the throne. She failed and was punished by being bound to a stake (to a cross) Only when she is revived and saved by the water of life can she ascend to the upper world.

Symbolism and Reflection

This story is a parable for the fact that we cannot feel complete until we have looked into the depths of our soul and integrated our shadows!
The underworld symbolizes the world of shadows.
Inanna's sister Ereshkigal symbolizes our deepest shadows: all our fears, our pain, our sorrow. These shadows cannot simply be pushed away.
We must let go of our desires, our wishes, and our ego, and face our shadows 'naked,' without masks and in humility.

Where Inanna dies, only our old, false self dies.
The tears, hence the "water of life," symbolize surrender and thus healing.
Inanna returns to life and to the upper world, and is thus quasi-reborn.

Inanna is also the goddess of fertility, which is why Easter is also celebrated as the festival of fertility with the symbolism of eggs.

Many thousands of years later, the Christian story of Jesus was spread.
Thus, the story of Inanna can be compared to that of Jesus, with his
journey to the cross, crucifixion, and resurrection.

Unfortunately, there is not much left of femininity in this part of the Bible...Coincidence? I guess not...

PFAS, the Invisible Threats in Our Daily Lives!

Over 10,000 chemical substances are hidden behind the abbreviation PFAS. These substances, known for their water, grease, and dirt-repellent properties, sneak into various aspects of our lives, from the kitchen to outdoor clothing.

The Ubiquity of PFAS

Teflon pans, outdoor clothing (textiles), paints, impregnations, ski wax, colors, carpets, cosmetics, to-go cups, pizza boxes, plastics, electronics, battery manufacturing, solar cells, firefighting foam, cleaning agents, galvanization, car air conditioners, baking paper, pesticides—the list is endless.

These chemicals cannot break down and persist in the environment.
It is alarming that 98% of the world's population already carries these chemicals in their blood.

Health Risks and Environmental Impact

These invisible dangers accumulate in our organs and can cause serious health damage. From infertility to allergies, thyroid damage, reduced immune response, liver and kidney damage, to cancer—the impacts are diverse. Even the environmental effects are dramatic as PFAS contaminates groundwater, thus entering our drinking water.

The Invisible Threat in Our Food and Drink

Exposure to PFAS mainly occurs through drinking water and food. Both animal and plant-based foods are affected as soils and waters are contaminated by these chemicals.

The coating of paper with PFAS means that these substances are ingested by people daily through "to-go" and "home-delivered food" in substantial amounts!

A Glimpse into the Future

Although PFOS and PFOA are mostly banned in Europe, they are still widespread. The term "forever chemicals" illustrates their extreme longevity.
Even in Switzerland, these chemicals are present, as studies by the Federal Office for the Environment (FOEN) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) show.

Environmental Protection through Education

To protect ourselves from the risks, we must understand how PFAS infiltrates our lives. The introduction of limits for certain PFAS in animal products and drinking water from 2024 and 2026 respectively in Switzerland and Europe is a first step. Nevertheless, awareness and individual protection are essential.

Individual Protection: Water Filtration

Given the challenges of contaminated drinking water, I have opted for a water filter that, among other things, eliminates these chemicals.
If you'd like to learn more about my filtration system, click here (only in German): ARCTICA

Dark Waters: A Call for Vigilance
If you want to see the devastating effects of PFAS in the USA, I recommend watching the movie "Dark Waters."

It's time to become aware of this invisible threat and take action to protect your health and the environment!

No More Vitamin B12 Deficiency

Cobalamin is Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12, also known as Cobalamin, is crucial for our health, regardless of dietary choices. Produced by bacteria found in soil and water, the increasing sterility in our modern diet predisposes us to Vitamin B12 deficiency.

Let's delve into various aspects of this essential vitamin.

B12 is Exclusively Bacteria-Produced
B12 is solely produced by bacteria, not by plants or animals.
There are different forms of Cobalamin, including the active forms Methylcobalamin and Adenosylcobalamin, and the frequently found inactive form Cyanocobalamin in supplements.

Consequences of B12 Deficiency

A lack of B12 can lead to severe health issues such as anemia, nerve damage, and even depression. Symptoms range from fatigue, nausea, confusion to concentration problems.

Absorption of B12

For the metabolism of Vitamin B12 in the stomach, the Intrinsic Factor is crucial. Formed in the parietal cells, also known as oxyntic cells, of the gastric mucosa, the Intrinsic Factor plays a vital role in B12 absorption in the small intestine. A healthy gut is essential for optimal nutrient absorption, including Vitamin B12!

Did You Know That Vitamin B12 is Heat-Sensitive?

PLANT-BASED VITAMIN B12 SOURCES & REQUIREMENTS

Plant-based foods naturally enriched with B12 through fermentation by bacteria include sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, bread drink, rejuvelac, etc. Many processed products now contain added Vitamin B12. Whether B12 remains intact during heating is unclear.
Such products are generally less healthy, serving convenience rather than health!
Studies challenge the activity of Cobalamin in fermented foods, including algae like Spirulina and Chlorella, warning that inactive Cobalamin might block receptors, hindering the absorption of active B12.

> My personal opinion: Never trust a study you haven't conducted yourself 😉

Dosage

The recommended dose is 3 micrograms per day for adults. B12 injections can be beneficial, especially for those with Intrinsic Factor deficiency. It's advisable to check B12 levels through a blood test beforehand.
Vitamin B12 is available as a supplement in spray form, toothpaste, pills, capsules, or injections. These supplements are mostly vegan and
cruelty-free.

Fresh and Raw

Fresh, raw, unwashed, and unpeeled plant-based foods, preferably from an organic farmer or self-grown, are the best Vitamin B12 sources.
The notion that animal products are a good B12 source is misleading, as livestock and poultry receive B12 as a supplement rather than producing it themselves!

It's essential to know that Vitamin B12 is heat-sensitive. Another reason why B12 from animal products is not a reliable source, as who consumes raw fresh eggs or raw fresh meat today?

Conclusion

"Abstaining" from animal products makes sense for ethical, health, and environmental reasons! A balanced plant-based diet is health-promoting! Vitamin B12 can be taken directly as a plant-based supplement without the detour through animal products!

The Fascinating World of Water - Beyond H2O

Have you ever pondered the complexity of water? Did you know that water is essentially two gases combining? It may sound surprising, but the water we know doesn't actually exist!

Water is composed of H2O, two hydrogen atoms (HH), and one oxygen atom (O). An intriguing fact: water is naturally slightly acidic, with a pH between 5 and 7.

H2 acts as the power supplier for our human battery, while O is responsible for oxidation in the body. This is not harmful as long as you maintain a balanced diet with plenty of fresh vegetables and fruits.

Water isn't as clean anymore as governments make you believe...

But what happens when water is contaminated with toxins like chemicals, medication residues, pesticides, fungicides, herbicides, chlorine, etc.? In such cases, the body requires more antioxidants to protect its cells.

This is where the importance of a fresh diet comes into play! Biophotons from fresh and untreated vegetables and fruits contain solar energy and water with dissolved, ionized minerals and vitamins. The body can efficiently absorb these components, providing antioxidative, cell-protective effects.

Science has discovered that adding electrons to water has health benefits. Hydrogen (H2), the smallest molecule humanity has analyzed, penetrates every cell, including the blood-brain barrier, activating antioxidants like vitamin C, Coenzyme Q10, etc. H2 protects against oxidation, aging, diseases, and fuels cells with the energy needed for ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) production in the mitochondria.

If you give it a try, you'll feel it! More energy, increased clarity, faster recovery, enhanced fitness, and much more.

But beware! Not all devices on the market are equally good. In cheaper variants, everything is combined – ozonized water, oxygen, and hydrogen. The combination of + and - can lead to undesirable oxidative reactions. So, be cautious!

A high-quality device must have a special membrane that separates these molecules and removes unwanted substances.

Here is a link to what I consider the best device , and with the code: 25485 you can even get a €50 discount! Only in Europe I believe.

In the fascinating world of water, there is still much to discover. It's more than just H2O – it's the key to our health and vitality! Stay tuned!

Let me know your opinion in the comments 🙏🏽

Veganer Mythos über Vitamin B12

Deutsch:

Vitamin B12 is produced by bacteria and can be directly taken as a supplement, instead of going through animals 🍔.

Non-vegan diets can lead to B12 deficiency just as easily, since B12 is sensitive to heat and is mostly lost during cooking 🍳.

Given our increasingly sterile food sources and the lack of soil-based bacteria, B12 supplementation is a wise choice to prevent deficiencies. For everyone 🌱👍!
